Dress Shoes

For women who work in the office or are looking for a special shoe to wear for an important occasion or just to look nice, dress shoes are perfect.  There are many styles of shoes and almost all of them are high heeled.  Though high heels have been worn by women throughout history they became extremely popular in the 1400’s in French courts.  The trend has continued strongly throughout many societies since them.  Throughout the last 60 years trends have changed and heel sizes have changed, however, they have been ever present.  Women love heels from short to tall and from block to tapered or even stiletto there is a type of heel for everyone.

Dress shoes are often worn on a daily basis by some women and, depending on the size of the heel and the make of the shoe, they can often do more harm than good.  Heeled shoes can cause:

            Extreme foot pain
Foot deformities like hammertoes and bunions
            Unsteadiness
            Shortened stride
            Changes in the knee joint
Higher percentages of degenerative joint disease
            Abnormal rotation of the foot
            Back and vertebrate deformities

However when worn on occasion dress shoes with heels prove to be harmless and are preferred for many reasons.

They accentuate the calves making them appear slimmer and more tone
They change posture to a more upright position
            They make legs appear longer
            They make women appear taller
They make the foot appear smaller
They define the arches in the foot
They help lift and tone the butt

Many different styles of dress shoes are available and all of them are not heeled they include:

            Pumps
            Slingbacks
            Loafers
            Mules
            Flats
            Sandals
            Boots
            Stilettos
            Low heeled
